From the deepest recesses of time, women have been recognized as life-givers and sustainers. The image of the Bird Goddess appeared as funerary figures in predynastic Egypt. These painted terracotta images are a superb blend of bird, woman, and deity.

Art in its many forms transcends and unites humanity. It speaks a universal language which touches our hearts, our minds and our souls.

In Her Image is a cyberspace exhibition featuring visual art and poetry which expresses the concept of the Sacred Feminine. The purpose of the exhibit is to present an uplifting atmosphere, creating a moment of beauty, peace, compassion, cooperation and other feminine qualities on the World Wide Web.

In Her Image will be on view for one year until November 2003, and new works may be submitted at any time. The show began in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and will be displayed geographically as it spreads around the planet.
