Watercolor, 1999 18"x24" (image size 12"x18") $600.00 I used to drive past this scene several days a week, became enamored of it, and spent much of 1999 painting variations of it. This was the best one; it has actually garnered several awards. Oddly enough, it's the only one of the variations I haven't sold yet. If memory serves, in was while working on this painting that I discovered what a glorious mixture burnt umber and thalo blue make. I used this combination in both the sky and the trees. This is actually more typical of the snows in my part of Virginia; light dustings rather than heavy blankets. | |
